- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 (29 ounce) can sliced peaches in light or heavy syrup
- Set oven temperature to 350 degrees F.
- Melt margarine in 13x9 casserole baking dish. Oven will preheat while margarine is melting.
- Mix together sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and milk.
- Pour batter in casserole dish (before fruit).
- Add peaches (or other fruit).
- Bake for 35-40 minutes. Batter will rise to the top of the peaches and form a fluffy, golden brown crust.

Cook's notes: I routinely forget to put the fruit on the bottom. I just pour the batter evenly over the peaches and it turns out okay.
I like to use 1 large can and 1 small can of peaches because I like a lot of fruit!
